I think it deserves every one of its 6 Tony Awards, including Best Musical of 2002. Last night I saw Gypsy starring the illuminating Bernadette Peters.  It was truly incredible evening on Broadway.  Unlike most of my gay compatriots, I had never seen or heard any version of Gypsy so the entire show was completely new to me.
